
Dr. Manalo is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at California State University, Los Angeles. He received his Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Southern California and his MSW from California State University, Long Beach. With over 25 years of experience as a professional social worker, he has worked with a variety of social service organizations that serve children, youth, and families. As an Associate Professor, he teaches graduate and undergraduate students in social welfare policy and political practice, community organizing, and writing. His research articles have been published in leading academic publications, including Child and Youth Services Review and Child Welfare.
