Typhoon Washi, locally known as Bagyong Sendong, ravaged the southernPhilippines this past December 17th. The death toll exceeds the 1,250 mark, and many more are feared to still be missing. The disaster has affected not only the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, but also a lot of rural areas in Northern Mindanao. Up until today, tens of thousands of Sendong’s victims are still without homes.
